In May 2013, Jimmy Haber of ESquared Hospitality and industry veterans David Rabin and Kyle Hotchkiss Carone formed Trey Hospitality. The company marries acclaimed nightlife experience with Haber’s renowned management style and multi-concept, global culinary portfolio.
Jimmy Haber is Managing Partner of ESquared Hospitality and has been an investor and owner of restaurants and nightclubs for over three decades. With more than 25 properties globally, including critically acclaimed brands such as BLT Steak, BLT Fish and BLT Prime, Haber is intimately involved in the development, construction and financing of the portfolio. He also works closely with the culinary and management teams to streamline operations and maintain the highest standards in hospitality and service. Haber is one of the founding trustees of the New York City Hospitality Alliance, an independent, city-wide hospitality association established in 2012 that represents all facets of this diverse industry including restaurants, nightlife venues, destination hotels and industry suppliers.
David Rabin is currently a partner in a number of prominent New York City establishments, including Cole’s Greenwich Village, The Lambs Club and Jimmy at The James hotels in New York and Chicago. Most notably, Rabin co-founded Lotus, the former supper club and nightlife institution that transitioned NYC’s Meatpacking District into an international hospitality destination. Previous restaurant and bar partnership roles include Rex in Chelsea, VBar at The Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel & Resort and Union Bar, a mainstay in Manhattan's Flatiron neighborhood for 15 years. Rabin also served as a consultant on the opening of Manhattan Express, the first Western-style supper club in Moscow. As former president of the New York Nightlife Association for nine years, Rabin was instrumental in the organization’s alliance with the city's top restaurateurs, which led to the formation of the New York City Hospitality Alliance. He was also the co-founder and president of the Meatpacking District Initiative, and one of the first New York Cares volunteers, serving as a board member for more than 20 years.
Raphael Chejade-Bloom, formerly Managing Partner at Gerber Group, began his career at Rubenstein Communications where he oversaw the planning and execution of corporate events prior to joining the direct-advertising department at MTV Networks. In 2009, Chejade-Bloom joined Gerber Group as the Manager of Whiskey Park New York. Eight months later, Chejade-Bloom moved to the executive team as the Director of Marketing & Entertainment before being named the company’s youngest Managing Partner in 2012. In this role, he oversaw operations at numerous venues internationally including Stone Rose Lounge at Time Warner Center, Whiskey Park at Trump Parc, Whiskey Blue at the W New York, THE LCL: Bar & Kitchen at The Westin New York Grand Central, Red2One at the W Santiago, and more. Chejade-Bloom has been quoted as an industry expert in numerous publications including USA Today, The New York Times, New York Post, Huffington Post, Washington Business Journal, Business Insider, BizBash, BlackBook, Thrillist and Nightclub & Bar.
Jeffrey Jah has been involved with New York nightlife for over twenty years, innovating legendary concepts with venues such as The Tunnel, Palladium, Bowery Bar, and Life. Jah went on to become founding partner and principal of Lotus New York as well as its multiple outposts in Brazil. Jah later became founding partner of Café De La Musique, which expanded to over nine locations in various beach towns throughout Brazil. In New York, Jah is the founding partner of 1 Oak, The Double Seven, and The Lambs Club at The Chatwal Hotel. Last year, Jah also launched his first European concept in Milan with Byblos restaurant, lounge and club. Jah also serves as an event producer as well as the special projects director & editor for FLAUNT MAGAZINE and XOP MAGAZINE BRAZIL, respectively.
Kyle Hotchkiss-Carone is a Managing Partner at Cole’s Greenwich Village, where he helped to establish the creative identity of the neighborhood restaurant by overseeing all creative direction including branding, design and strategic partnerships. In addition to his role at Cole’s Greenwich Village, Hotchiss-Carone is the Director of Business Development at Host Committee, a tech start up in the nightlife space. As the former Creative Director for Bizzi & Parners, a Milan-based real estate development firm with a focus on the hospitality industry, he directed the brand vision for properties in the company’s portfolio, in addition to helping reposition the food and beverage concepts at The Setai Fifth Avenue, Bizzi & Partner’s flagship property. Hotchkiss-Carone has also served as a strategic consultant specializing in the hospitality sector, working with clients such as famed Midtown eatery Michael’s, Morgans Hotel Group, The Soho House Group, Trump SoHo New York, Andaz Hotels and Mondrian Soho. Hotchkiss-Carone’s experience extends to the development side, having worked with Andre Balazs Properties to open The Standard New York and rebrand Balazs’ private Rhinebeck residence, The Locusts, as an upscale retreat. Hotchkiss-Carone was a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University.
Samantha Wasser is the Creative Director & Partner of ESquared Hospitality, where she works directly with Managing Partner Jimmy Haber, President Keith Treyball, and Executive Chef & Principal Shaun Hergatt on all new concepts and developments. Samantha is responsible for providing creative vision and developing strategy for current and upcoming properties, including concept creation, positioning and branding, location selection, strategic partnerships, décor and design, marketing and opening. Samantha plays a vital role in the anticipated New York City restaurants: Juni, Chef Shaun Hergatt’s harvest-inspired fine-dining creation and The Wayfarer, an American Seafood Grill with Partners Eric Marx and Lisle Richards set to open in late summer and autumn 2013, respectively. In addition to providing strategic vision for an ever-expanding roster of restaurants, Samantha is also spearheading the company’s foray into nightlife through Trey Hospitality, ESquared’s collaborative partnership with nightlife industry experts David Rabin, Raphael Chejade-Bloom, Kyle Hotchkiss Carone and Jeffrey Jah. As Trey Hospitality prepares to open its first venue in Manhattan in fall 2013, Samantha serves an essential role in the creative inception and development.
